Only perfect varieties that are naturally sweet, colorful and bursting with flavor make the cut. Great Ways to Enjoy Make cranberry sauce. In a medium saucepan dissolve 1/3 cup sugar in 1/3 cup water over medium heat. Add frozen cranberries and bring to a low boil, stirring frequently for about 10 minutes or until sauce thickens. Make cranberry juice. In a large pot, add 4 cups of water and one bag of frozen cranberries. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 20 minutes. Strain and discard solids. Add sugar to taste.
